Dr Katie Xu obtained her general dentistry degree from the University of Melbourne in 2013, graduating with first-class honours. During her studies, she received numerous scholarships and awards including the Cato Graduate Scholarship and the Des Crack Memorial Prize for the highest marks in Paediatric dentistry and Orthodontics.
She practiced as a general dentist for several years serving the wider Melbourne community before undertaking further study in a 3-year Degree in the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry specialising in Orthodontics at the University of Melbourne. She has been a speaker at numerous national orthodontic conferences and has research publications in the Australian Orthodontic Journal and the International Journal of Oral Science. She is an active member of the Australian Dental Association, and the Australian Orthodontic Society, and is also an examiner for the Australian Dental Council.
Katie is keen to understand her patient’s orthodontic concerns, their wants and their lifestyle requirements. She is skilled in all types of orthodontic treatment, including aesthetic treatment options such as Invisalign® Clear aligners and clear, ceramic braces.
Katie is a local Glen Waverley resident. She is often at the Glen stocking up on groceries or trying the newest restaurant to come to Kingsway. When the weather is nice, she’s often at Jells park with her family accompanied by her white, fluffy dog, Kumo.
